I saw the Brokeback, I did.

Yeah, me and my roommate went to check out a new Chinese place because he doesn't want to go to the old Chinese place anymore, and I said that I knew of a supposedly good one out by the movie theater. The place we went to was not that place, or, if it was, the food sucked so much ass it wasn't even funny. Anyway, since it was right by the movie theater he suggested that we go to the theater and see if there was anything playing. There wasn't. It was a choice between Scary Movie 4, which I didn't want to see because I'm aware that it uses gross out humor, and I didn't want to throw up the food I had just eaten, or The Wild (because nothing else was decent, or nothing else would have caused us to wait for hours on end). He didn't want to see The Wild, I didn't want to see Scary Movie 4, so we just left and went over to the movie theater to get Brokeback, because we both wanted to see that. I also rented Beauty and the Beast, because it was there and I wanted to see it, too.

So, since plenty of people might not have seen Brokeback yet and might want to, I'll keep the spoilers to a complete minimum. The movie was good. It wasn't as good as people wanted me to believe it was, but it was good. I don't really get how it was nominated for all those awards, because it sure as hell didn't blow me away. Plus, the sex scene between the males seriously came out of nowhere... I actually laughed because it was just so randomly placed. I think that's what I didn't like about it, it lacked a lot of dramatic tension that I would have expected. I didn't see the relationship really 'start' or anything like that, and it disappointed me. Anne Hathaway probably won't be doing any Disney movies anytime soon, though. That's for damned sure.

Overall, I'd get it a 7, maybe an 8, out of ten. Maybe an 8. I then watched Beauty and the Beast, which also wasn't nearly as good as it was supposed to be, but, Disney whore that I am, I had more fun with that than Brokeback...

you'd never seen beauty and the beast before? I didn't love it when it came out, I am hardcore Little Mermaid, and B&B just didn't live up to it taking all the hype from Ariel...

but I like it a lot more now. Sometimes movies need a few viewings ;)

I have Beauty and the Beast on VHS, or I did... I never really liked it all that much when I was younger, either. Then again, I didn't like the Little Mermaid much either... but I loved Aladdin, Pochahontas and the Lion King, and Oliver and Company. It just just been a really long time since I saw it, and playing Kingdom Hearts II had me going 'MUST SEE DISNEY MOVIES AGAIN!!!'
